A Brief on your brand:

Schwarzkopf Professional is part of the business unit in cosmetics/toiletries of the Henkel group-Dusseldorf, and is one of the leading suppliers in the hairdressing business worldwide. With more than a century of experience behind them, the brand was founded as a state-registered chemist, advising another industry supplier in the 1930s. In 1995 the company was acquired by the Henkel group, Dusseldorf and today Schwarzkopf Professional is a salon exclusive brand with a presence in over 80 countries, in over 160,000 salons.
Based on this professional partnership with the hairdresser, the focus of Schwarzkopf Professional is to provide innovative concepts and services, which match the needs of international salon businesses. Schwarzkopf Professional is present in over 80 countries. In India we are present with the following brands include Igora Royal & Igora Vibrance (colour), BC Bonacure (care), SEAH Hairspa(care), Osis (styling)as well as Straightening brands Glatt and rebonding with Strait Therapy and Natural Styling (form).

Q. How would you describe the brand journey of Schwarzkopf Professional in India so far?

Schwarzkopf Professional made an entry into India in 2001 when the industry was still very fragmented and unorganized. The salon industry, per-se has seen a great evolution only in the last 10 years. Initially the salon services were just basic but now Hair Cuts, Hair Care & Styling are recognized as an important part of the personal grooming process. The desire to look good is aggressively fueling the demand in the hair and beauty business in India. In these past 10 years we have brought into India some very innovative products with breakthrough ingredients and technology. This partnered with our focus on education for hairdressers, has made this journey very rewarding.

Q. Schwarzkopf Professional has always focused on being in sync with professional colors and styling products… Any plans to leverage this further?

At the beginning of each season, we present our latest Essential Looks collection which is created in collaboration with international top stylists who work at the international fashion weeks in London, Milan and Paris. This direct inspiration from the catwalks is of course unique, as it allows us to predict the trends that will be seen on the street all over the world. So in 2011, we will unveil two more exciting Essential Looks collections. These looks are created using our color and styling ranges.

Also, we recently re-launched our hair styling range OSiS with smashing consistencies and slick packaging which inspires the stylists to "Kill Routine" and Go creative. The OSiS range is now grouped into 3 product directions for easily identifiable style results (style, texture, finish) and a variety of control levels - allowing your imagination to run wild!
